Something related to tunneling. McAfee invented the commercial antivirus; doesn't mean his takes on other things are worth anything.

Takes being worth something is a different argument. You’d asked to be informed when Musk invented something. I informed.

In the context of Hyperloop. If a McAfee says he invents something that's not an antivirus, you'll be skeptical too, I hope.

Elon Musk has been instrumental in advancing electric car adoption by a decade, making orbital launches much cheaper, and producing better buffer batteries for renewables. He has pulled many times his weight, imho. (And John McAfee is one of the most radical humorists alive.)

He's been instrumental in marketing electric cars as Ferraris for people who think buying Ferraris is tacky.

Unlike Nissan et al, Musk understood that due to the high price of batteries, he must address price insensitive buyers first, i.e. build premium SUVs and cars to fund R&D. Tesla is not competing with Ferrari, but with Landrover and Porsche.

And yet he failed to make a profit selling to these buyers, and meanwhile the Chinese EV industry is murdering Tesla.

SpaceX's board has some questions about why SpaceX is funding Boring. And as I said, I'm not an investor.
