if someone wants to take the bet, I’d bet $$$ that in <2 years there will be major headlines that the spread of pc culture in western countries from 2016 onwards was massively fueled by international psychological operations from non-allies.

I don't believe so. The premise of MSM being lost in the wilderness isn correct, but I believe that there are nations using digital platforms to sew dissent across many of the democratic (and nondemocratic) nations of the world with the intent of destabilization.

Sure. The effect of public demoralization in the US is arguably much larger than the problems caused by the Trump administration itself. People seem to have mostly forgotten Bush II.
