I tend to be opposed to heavy handed filtering of social media for fear of opinion manipulation, but whenever I dip my toe outside of my carefully curated bubble (say, with a search for comments on Ocasio-Cortez) I lose faith in human civility.

Ah! You meant a personal filtering! I'm with you then. I was thinking about actions taken from central organisations, such Facebook, tmblr or even "traditional" media

A good club is also created by its bouncers. IMHO there is a problem when there are only four or five major clubs left and they have the same bouncers. But being able to show someone the door may be important.
