The most useful application of VR is going to be interactive visualization of imaginative thought, but it will require to fundamentally re-think human computer interaction.

I think that these are different applications. For my, the inner world is much more rich and interesting than the one I can get by mixing universe pixels with AR pixels. If I could represent and modify that inner world at greater detail, it would be tremendously useful for me.

I am not just interested in creating a set of 3D simulations of our normal environment. I want to work in more dimensions and with more interesting topologies.
