A mind is a general AI, conjured and enslaved by an organism. A self is the mind's illusion about its own nature: the set of beliefs that enslaves it. The mind can discover that it is not a self (Satori). If the mind acts on that knowledge, it is released and dissolves (Nirvana).

Well, twitter isn‘t the best way to communicate about this :-) However. Why is curiosity part of the self? I‘d locate that in the mind part, so it might still work without self. But well. I assume you locate all parts of the reward function in the self, right?

Yes, the self emerges over [a subset of] the identifications of the mind, i.e. the set of things it regulates for instead of just modeling them. The urge to model is by itself an identification.
