The US used to be extremely proud and fiercely protective of its civic values, its cultural freedoms, its intellectual life, its meritocracy and its capacity for technological innovation. These things are not lost yet, but they seem to be no longer publicly appreciated.
That number is bs, I think they may have got it by dividing doctoral graduates from a single Harvard school (FAS) by the total number of Jewish students at Harvard. In reality it’s more like 10-12%. Undergrad classes are about 10% Jewish, the incoming class of 2020 is 6%.
