I believe that despite all valid criticism, the innovation unleashed in Silicon Valley, from Xerox Parc over Apple, Google, Facebook to Tesla has on balance been a strong force for good, and kept the US vibrant while traditional industries and infrastructure mostly declined.

If you follow the post-modernists trajectory from the 60s this is the endpoint. Lowest common denominator wins. Politics of envy. (And i am a huge critic of the tech bros but something has gone sideways.)

I think that most of the people who started tech companies are not bros but nerds. The stereotype of the bro may have been invented to disparage people one does not like as outgroup (compare: Bernie bros, to discredit people preferring Sanders over Clinton). It’s a dark pattern.
