The difference between deterministic and indeterministic systems is whether the state transitions can be fully described by a function that does not know the time. The indeterministic function yields different values each time, so it is not compressible to a time independent one.

Yes. I have tried to point at the problem of “lost indeterminism”. As a lay person, I wonder if currently there is a way of thinking in computer science to deal with the problem of chaos, i.e. approaching it using determinism. Fractals and chaos for instance.

Everything that is more interesting than randomness is determinism. When you implement a system on top of a substrate, the question is always how you can wring the required amount of determinism from the substrate.
