Some ideas are good and some are bad even if it is also true that if one wants to be appreciated for those ideas one must find a receptive audience.
If you are a mathematician or philosopher or artist, then the appreciation of your public appearances will depend entirely on the fit to the audience. If you care to maximize your audience, you need to relate to where most people are at, not to the cutting edge of your field.

As I said, I am still unable to appreciate your definition of objective worth. However, I am very good at separating my own appreciation of an idea from the appreciation by an arbitrary audience.
