No, having a limited mind does not make you an idiot. Not being able to account for the limits does.

:-) I like this! But I don't have anything but a narrative to rely on and both *idiot* and *genius* seem counterproductive as concepts. The people with Nobels worked extraordinarily hard over long periods of time on problems that were worthy of that work. Nothing special.

The ability to spend extraordinary attention on a problem with very little expected material reward often indicates an underlying mental disorder. A mind that combines perfect functioning at the highest level of performance with a compulsion to greatness is a rare gem.
