Would that mean that a person with rock solid understanding of the downsides of gambling is still going to gamble if they feel more pleasure than fear when thinking about doing it? (I don't think so!)

A more drastic example: if I inhibit your ability to feel emotional fear for your kids, and emotional joy about their presence, will you likely begin throwing them out of windows despite your belief in parental commitments?
