If only Chernobyl and Fukushima were still habitable. What is wrong with solar thermal? No fancy resources or tech required, no uranium mining, no pollution. We are not going to run out of uninhabitable deserts any time soon.

Nuclear power is totally safe if you ignore uranium mining and accidents. I don't think you can explain the accidents away, and the risk of Fukushima incidents persists. (Fossil will probably kill our civilization, of course.)

Just because you don’t agree with the conclusions does not mean the methodology is wrong or the people doing the study are acting in bad faith. By any measure

Nuclear Medicine treats cancerous tumors with high radiation to kill the tumors. Adjacent healthy tissue is unharmed even though exposed to low-level doses of radiation. Chernobyl was a military reactor without containment. Containment works (TMI, Fukishima)

Also the members of UNSCEAR are medical doctors and physicist with direct experience of that. During Fukushima, the chair was German and vice chair Australian two country with firm anti-nuclear orientation, explain me how they would politically have suppressed evidence !?
