I guess the question is: why is this kinda spin worthwhile for the gop? Isn’t it so flagrant? Yet seems effective, no?https://twitter.com/KevinMKruse/status/1050040564333326337 …

I think that it works because a large segment of the voters feels totally disenfranchised from mainstream news media. On social media, it is possible to create an alternate narrative, where every problem of the Trump admin is caused by his adversaries.

Yeah they seem to be playing that game But there also seems to be no constraint on that? I mean if trump took all the money from his supporters, and killed off all his adversaries, he could also use same narrative. Would that work? Are there any restrictions to this narrative?

There are still legal limits on what he can do. And if he loses his support in the GOP or the GOP loses due to him, he's going to be impeached early next year, no?

Yeah I guess I am just wondering what are the limits on this “everything msm says to u is a lie, so any story I give regardless of what the evidence is or how far fetched it sounds, u should buy”

People seem to pick and choose what fits and advances the desired local consensus reality.

Most people don't actually care about consistency very much. Political opinions are irrelevant for individual decision making, but important for social alignment. Emotions about political events tend to be highly selective, and what does not fit can safely be ignored.
