Stoicism is a state in which you only regulate what is out of balance, and only identify with balances you can regulate. It seems optimal for single individuals, but I would expect that it should be disadvantaged by evolution for species that form cooperative groups.

So what would be the objective of doing any task? There has to have some motive right? And if its there, it should bring me some peace of mind/ happiness or some XYZ when doing any task or after its completion.

I agree. BUT making happiness an explicit goal is counterproductive for achieving it. Many studies show this. So paradoxically, not actively trying to be happy is the way to be happy.
