Mathematicians think in proofs, lawyers in constructs, logicians in operators, dancers in movement, artists in impressions, and idiots in labels.

You just gave idiots a label. You realise that? Idiots rarely see themselves as idiots.

That was my first thought: "is 'idiot' a label or an operator in Taleb's mind?" :)

I get the idea (totally subjective) that some people sometimes just make noise for the sake of noise rather than for the content of the audio. Does making noise make you a musician?

Understanding is data compression. A signal that you cannot compress is indistinguishable from noise to you.

Some noise is just noise though. Taleb's passion project is GMOs. However in the whole debate cultural expectation is mixed with scientific actuality in liberal doses which leads to noise.

Yes, that is kinda his point. He is a character that explores the idea of what science would be like if it was personal.

When it comes to GMOs the Danish Company Dalina Genetics are doing some amazing stuff. They rapidly breed crops so as to not be classified as a GMO company although its just a slower process of GMO. Their Kitchen Minis are amazing http://dalina.dk/produkt-kitchen-minis/ …
