If you are not exercising every day, you should at least feel bad about it. I suggest you feel bad about not exercising for at least ten minutes every day. Directly after waking up is a good time, because your emotional capacity is still fresh, but evenings work too.

Related: sports psychologists often recommend their client internalize a loss and remember how it feels in order for them to work extra hard to avoid the feeling next time. Negative emotions can be motivating.

I get it, and self loathing can be tragically funny. In many cases it works, though! But that doesn't necessarily mean it's healthy.
