Where were you when you realized that he first cell never died, and is still alive in everyone of us?

Actually, my teacher told the fetal story from the first cell's perspective: All cells are split off the origin. That lead to my question where in my body that origin cell is situated. Pretty interesting perspective, isn't it?

The thing that split off is just the other half of the first cell. Every cell is essentially still the first one.

But couldn't you locate the cell with the oldest DNA if it would be possible to measure the age of the DNA?

That would not work, because the DNA of the first cell gradually mutated into the DNA of all the different cells that exist today.
