      Loosely ... and now we treading on ground which I became obsessed with - a theory of everything based on nothing, don't ask, we get into a world of mind numbing complexity which I consider harmful for personal reasons of the mind - the space represents options and probabilities.

      I'm not going to explain the how i.e. I don't want to go there. I'll just explain one hypothesis which we can never know the answer to because of uncertainty principles. If we could, model the entire universe perfectly then the probability of the universe being real becomes zero.

      The structure of representations in our brain is such that replacing a neuron with another will entrain the new neuron with the same function as the one it replaces.

      Well, obviously. Every neuron is learning a local function only. The brain will probably even account for attrition by making plasticity dependent on the age of the neuron.
