Hmm, human phantasy, dreams and imagination are not always physically possible, so represent states that are not "valid world states". And my gut feeling is that these are important as "navigation space" to be able to compute as much states as possible.

They are valid world states in the sense that in our dreams and imagination, we end up with possible universes (things we can navigate and mentally inhabit), not random noise.
