All consciousness is born out of a mind finding fundamental disagreement with the way in which the universe works.
My enjoyment of music results from the resolution of a tension in the musical structure, which if it would not happen would make the music painful to listen to. If I don't perceive that tension, it means that I don't understand the music and it sounds boring.

Right. Some people, e.g., Carl Sagan, had a single experience with music and were permanently sensitized thereafter. Before the first moving experience with something, one can’t be deprived of it. Only after feeling a pleasure is the prospect of its absence grievous.
