By realizing that whenever I have an important insight (that is usually not shared by the guys at the top of the academic or sociopolitical food chains), I realize that I am late to the party, and the insight has already been around for ages and shapes things.

I know, right? Often you write things that are similar to other things I read or thought before, but you manage to fit them into a tweet and sound smart. (That sounds mean, but I don't mean it like that. I am bad at writing pithy tweets, case in point)
