I don't know of any study about that question. NDEs are probably caused by dissociation of the sensory input to the visual cortex, so it spins off into dreaming mode, and oxygen deprivation of lateral neocortex leads to light/tunnel effects etc.?

I would expect that people with aphantasia (like myself) can have NDEs too, but perhaps slightly less likely?

My thoughts, I think it could depend on the persons own abilities on the
#visualisation#spectrum and if they can dream in images#aphantasia I think there are a few variables to consider in understanding what’s possible, but the research that started this thread made me think
