I am curious: do you have a detailed argument that you can make for that (i.e. Bitcoin resulting from Libertarianism, not financial parasitism or something else, and Bitcoin being supremely harmful, more than e.g. austerity politics)? It would be interesting to read it!

The environmental harm of bitcoin (i.e., electricity usage) is well documented. I can't make a detailed argument that bitcoin is result of Libertarianism, but the original goals (decentralized control, anonymity, no government regulation) certainly dovetail w/ that philosophy.

I suspect that the original goals are coincidentally the interests of financial traders, too, and may have led to the cooption of Libertarian tenets. I am less worried about energy usage (which may even speed up transition to renewables) than about stress on monetary systems.
