Never cling to null hypotheses. If something cannot totally be ruled out, it has a non-zero probability to be true, and you have to subtract that from the null hypothesis. Don't build absolutist narratives, but discover maps and meta-maps.

Foundational physics works like this. Physicists don't have a single unified theory, but there are a number of stubs and proof candidates, and arguments that support or endanger each of them. Without understanding the arguments, it is impossible to justify the specific claims.
