It doesn't invalidate quantum computing, it just questions if you have true speedups versus classical computing. What do you mean here by "unrelated"?

Quantum computing hints at a different kind of computation that is beyond classical computation. If classical computation is fundamentally causal in nature, then quantum computing is imply something that works beyond causality.

Causality is a mode of description, not a mode of computation. You should probably look at reversibility.
