Intelligence is the ability to make models. General intelligence means that a sufficiently large computational substrate can be fitted to an arbitrary computable function, within the limits of that substrate. Humans might already be in that category, for a rather small substrate.
I do remember your talk, and I am familiar with the Big 5 and some of its relatives. I suspect that there is an aspect about purposes that is neglected, and it is the way they are organized into hierarchies that differ by individual and culture, partially reflected in values.

I agree that big 5 might just be the engine - the pipes, valves and flows - there needs to be another model that drives somewhere. Tonight Bar-Yam tweeted that sleep dissociates subdivisions held separated by consciousness and allows archetypes (values?) to form for predictions.
