Intuition refers to the primary control models that we acquire to deal with the world. Rational models are secondary, they are often derivatives of tacit models.

What do you mean by 'defeat' ? Often the gut feeling turns out to be correct rather than the rational course of action.

Of course. We have rational models only for a tiny subset of the things we deal with.
