Once you have a financial infrastructure, it is inevitable that it will be gamed to some degree. Not having a financial infrastructure is much worse than the effects of limited gaming. A breakdown will translate into a total lockdown of the economy. A lot of people will die.

I see your point - but still have the hope that there will be a beautiful new flower rising from the ashes of the old system. IMHO the collapse of the old is unstoppable anyway - but we need to be prepared to keep harm to living beings as minimal as possible.

Of course new flowers will rise. There is half a Bn years left before Earth loses its atmosphere. But most of the new flowers won't be human.
