Perception is correctly predictive: it allows you to predict the next set of patterns on your cochlea, retina, thalamus. In this sense, it is a simulation, not a simulacrum.

How do you justify the difference between models of 'social universe' & 'physical universe'? Some 'bootstrapping' going on?
-
Most people live in a socially constructed universe that does not allow prediction of future events, but is optimized for integration of past events.

Mind -> Perception/Simulation? Where does brain fit into this? I would tend to say: Brain -> Mind/Perception/Simulation
-
The brain implements the functionality of the mind.
