This is a misunderstanding of #Karma due to western conditioning in a single linear history of time. Karma leads to *infinite* possibilities at any moment, which are nevertheless conditioned by the potential of a situation.

The Vṛttis of the universe are computational. Please note the plural. There is no determinism in this computation. Many paths are possible, all of which are computationally valid. The Karma (carryover from prior choices) in one path is different from anothe. But all the 3 Gunas of Prakrti are driven by computation (Vrtti).
