If you didn’t teach a general AI about physics and chemistry first, and just let it learn the world by watching it, would it infer the existence of gods as an explanation for things? (We did, after all). What superstitions and cognitive biases would it develop?

People did not infer the existence of Gods, they were gaslighted into it, to shove them into a cult that enabled agriculture, social and military organization.

Do you have links to historical documentation that suggests that humans are prone to explain natural events with supernatural deities creating universes and worrying about the masturbation habits of their inhabitants?
