I also don't think that this is necessarily the case, because I do not understand his reasoning in sufficient depth to reach the conclusion that he is correct or mistaken, or just covers a small area of the extrapolation space that is potentially correct (as he says himself).

Or he simply wants to be in your face, different and stand out. His theory is non-falsifiable, non-peer reviewed and there is little to no social science behind it. Best of all he claims that's how the future will be and there is not much, if anything, we can do to make it better
