If you are not the author of these actions, is there an author at all? And can this be seperated from the author of any action in this universe? If you agree there is a consistent thread of time in this universe, there needs to be an author (cause) accountable for any event.

If you say that there is no consistent thread of time (e.g by saying that, at any random/quantum event, the universe branches out into an inaccessible and disconnected state), then there is no need for any author at all. But you need to explain the persistence of physical law.

But In depersonalization, the self still keeps lurking(from first person pov to third person pov) whereas in dreams(the whole drama is set around the dreamer(first person) most of the time)

In my dreams, everything can happen. Depersonalization is frequent, but I don't experience it during the day. Apparently, people experiencing depersonalization may sometimes also lose access to all their personhood (even third person).

Have some questions: 1) Whats your view on simulation hypothesis or monoistic philosophy of Advaita Vedanta? 2) Whats the point of dreaming when dreams are most of the times bizarre, absurd, inconsistent and which we dont remember all the time?
-
I don't think that we are in a simulation, partially because our universe seems to be reversible, which is why we cannot have perpetuum mobiles. Irreversible simulations are easier to build. If our universe is a simulation, we are a quite certainly just an unintended side effect.

Not sure if it is the best metaphor, but it is certainly cool.
