States of enlightenment can be the culminating result of decades of hard work, but mostly, they happen by accident, and are often unwelcome.
It is a state of disidentification with at least one regulation dimension (how something ‘should’ be), or dissociation of a meaning component. If that happens close enough to the root, you disbelieve your own self concept or even the universe model.

The former seems to me Hume's ought-is problem applied to Reality. Reality-is(stimulus) and reality -ought(modelling). The second seems to me nihilism. So if true, 1) Can we say if a person simulates "death" like state in his mind(when alive) he is said to be enlightened?

2. One can reason it out or have this sort of perspective(only intellectual engagement) but how do we acheive that? Is it possible?
