What's the error in reasoning? Consider the incremental resource consumption of living longer vs extended productivity. Also longevity isn't really the problem there, it's consumerism and wasteful production processes that squander resources. Circular manufacturing solves this.

There is no reason to expect individuals to submit to your rules if they are not incentivized to do so. Immortal people will tend to have much greater economic and social power than mortal ones, and they might find that having kids every few decades is important for mental health
