I don’t like the word “holistic” because it is usually meant to imply how everything is connected with everything else. While that is almost (but not quite) true, the point is to discover how, and for that, you need analytic thinking.

What I have found most often is that people look at problem as an independent thing. They don’t relate how it affects the rest of the system.
