Some good and useful words like perspective and holistic originally help overcome existing narrower approaches but become so popular that they get meaninglessly used

Exactly. That word did most of the good it could do in the 1980ies. But perhaps that is not true for every generation, and each has to rediscover it.

The problem is not the word itself, but the idea that analysis or reduction are somehow intrinsically bad. Ignorance of important factors is bad.

Systems thinking and analytical thinking are both needed because analysis only works in a closed system in which all parts are known.

Analysis is also required to construct that system and identify its parts.
