The intuition that machines cannot be as ethical as humans is likely incorrect. Ethics is the systematic resolution of conflicts of interest under conditions of shared purpose. Ethics is not irrational. There is no reason to assume that machines cannot be more ethical than us.
The reason why journalists are rarely assassinated in democracies is not due to superior ethics, but because politicians have little power and are subject to the law. If the AI changes that, it would change in the same way as when politicians change it (as it happened in Russia).

Yea the size of the unethical behaviour advantage can be greater or smaller depending on details. It's still there though. So unethical attitude still has an edge in every system you can think of.
