How is consciousness generated by the brain? Interview at Science of Consciousness Conference 2018https://youtu.be/mkROH1QlDi0?t=13m33s …
At least indirectly. Physics may be a fractal generated by the emergent characteristics of math, and dreaming is a fractal generated by certain physical systems.

Don't turn into a Deepak Chopra. That conference seems to have been more of a 'cultural' event than an academic one, with a few big names to get the money in. Apologies in advance if I am out of turn. That interviewer looked a bit 'alternative lifestyle'.

While I share your concern about Deepak Chopra and the scientific integrity of large parts of the conference, it addresses an audience that genuinely seeks answers for their existential questions. I found it to be a place for useful conversations.

Kind of amazing that love and consciousness are emergent characteristics of math and physics. That should be taught early on.

But how, if almost nobody understands what love and consciousness are, and what they are good for? Most stop at thinking that they are somehow terminally desirable.
