Causality is the result of modeling the world as separate, interacting systems. Outside of this type of model, there is only correlation and identity.

I think I understand the discrete, coordinated systems being limited to correlation. I don't think I understand why we can't find causality in the entangled monolithic system.

Because to cause an effect in the object B, the agent A needs to change the state evolution of B from its normal course, which conceptually requires a functional separation of the intrinsic transitions of B from A.
