Classical liberals want to produce more freedom and give it to everyone (unjustified lack of freedom = oppression). Progressive leftism seems to understand freedom as a limited resource, so it has to be redistributed (unjustified surplus of freedom = privilege). Discuss.

I think it goes further than just freedom being a limited resource. I think their operational view of freedom is that we generate it through oppression; much like our fiat system generates capital through creating debt.

That is the automatic implication of freedom being completely zero-sum. But I doubt that many would subscribe to such a strong view. Still, freedom re-distribution seems to be more important to the social justice movement than freedom creation or economic redistribution.
