I've heard from a few people who claim to have been involved in the adpocalypse discussions (they work for companies who advertise) that some of the advertisers meeting with YouTube following pewdiepie's first offense were insistent on no ads running on current event/news videos.

The only videos I've had turned yellow are ones that cover current events, news or hotly discussed pop culture topics. That could be the issue, it's really stupid for advertisers to demand that, but those videos do seem to get flagged a lot.
