Amazing sight. I've never seen so many baby crabs in a plankton sample. The adaptations for survival make theses zoeas look like aliens. Their long spines defend against predators.pic.twitter.com/mCyYB1TEap

The biggest problems are what we can't see, ocean warming, overfishing, microplastics - a perfect ocean stormhttps://twitter.com/DOLHOM11/status/980367095845281792 …

The awful sight of our plastic litter among the plankton at the very base of the marine food chain. This piece of microplastic pollution is less than 1.5mm in size.pic.twitter.com/9ejZaxORG4

The amazing life at the sea surface. Shamefully, so rarely seen on TV the plankton is the most important life in the oceans. Come sampling this secret world with me.pic.twitter.com/dj99tPTQDC

Read about the world's largest citizen science ocean phytoplankton study in the Secchi Disk study's March 2018 update on Facebook and find out how you can help https://www.facebook.com/SecchiDisk/photos/a.466714933447085.1073741825.240073699444544/1592091587576075/?type=3&theater …pic.twitter.com/ZkNEhAN7nO

Shocking scale of microplastic pollution among the plankton base of the marine food chain. The squat lobster larva is less than 2 mm long.

A horseshoe worm larva. This creature has two names. When first seen in the plankton in the 19thC it was thought to be an animal in its own right and called Actinotrocha. Later, it was discovered to be a larval form and so it is now also known as a phoronid larva.https://twitter.com/PlanktonPundit/status/975465848671522816 …

The 1st time I looked through a dissecting scope at a live sample of seawater, I was totally hooked on marine biology. It blew me away! Love the camera perspective in this clip.https://twitter.com/PlanktonPundit/status/974005492124127232 …
