For those just finding this, Elon Musk proceeded to have $TSLA sue this whistleblower in federal court for $167 million. Now Musk is making it difficult for Tripp to depose him. He's one of nearly a dozen known critics Musk has abused and harassed. https://www.plainsite.org/dockets/3br5tkwuj/nevada-district-court/tesla-inc-v-tripp/ …pic.twitter.com/BFXywoR6Ny
The $TSLA Tripp case has been updated with new documents including a declaration by Elon Musk in which he appears to attempt to distance himself from past statements. The attachments to Document 113 include excerpts from numerous deposition transcripts. https://www.plainsite.org/dockets/3br5tkwuj/nevada-district-court/tesla-inc-v-tripp/ …
Summary: Elon is very busy running things into the ground and does not have time to discuss matters he knows almost nothing about but spoke about very publicly anyway.pic.twitter.com/0a8hBRBc95
$TSLA is also requesting to keep Musk's communications with a public relations consultant confidential.pic.twitter.com/wbLGZ1ao0Z
These arguments are generally familiar as they've been used previously to retaliate against others. Here are some of the individuals Elon Musk has targeted. 1. Martin Tripp (above) 2. Vernon Unsworth, who dared to criticize Musk's Thai cave rescue submarine on TV.
Musk called him a "pedo guy," dared him to sue, and now that lawsuit is going to trial December 3. Musk is likely to settle the claims before trial, having already lost his motion for summary judgment. 3. Ryan Mac (@RMac18), the BuzzFeed reporter covering the Unsworth case who refused to treat Musk's comments as "off the record" without an agreement. A federal judge ruled that Musk was harassing him by trying to drag him into the case. See https://www.plainsite.org/dockets/41tjjy9cw/california-northern-district-court/unsworth-v-musk/ ….
4. Randeep Hothi, a citizen journalist whose accurate observations of $TSLA's Fremont factory were useful to the short selling community. Musk despises short sellers, and filed for a Workplace Violence TRO once Hothi was found napping in his car in the parking lot. Hothi had...
...also made it more difficult for Musk to fake his "Autonomy Day" demonstration. At least one Tesla employee lied under oath in the course of the litigation, which ran up $60K in legal fees for Hothi. The short selling community chipped in to help. 5. Karl Hansen, a former $TSLA security officer at its factory in Nevada. Hansen has invoked the formal Sarbanes-Oxley whistleblower process and has filed a complaint with the SEC in addition to his federal lawsuit against Musk. See https://www.plainsite.org/dockets/3zq7utsfl/nevada-district-court/hansen-v-musk-et-al/ ….
6. Cristina Balan, a former $TSLA engineer who made key contributions to the design of the Model S's battery pack, among other projects. Tesla's former Global Communications Director Dave Arnold smeared her publicly for speaking out. She proved it in court. Suddenly, he resigned.
Balan's case is ongoing and presently is on appeal in the Ninth Circuit. See https://www.plainsite.org/dockets/3tnsemixj/washington-western-district-court/balan-v-tesla-motors-inc/ ….
