Because Placer County is still under the state’s order, we currently don’t have the ability to make a local decision about when to reopen. Governor Newsom made it clear this week that the initial loosening of order will be made by the state, and for the entire state. (5/6)

This is the right way to do it, absent intelligent leadership from the White House. Combining with WA, OR, NV is also very helpful. Viruses care nothing of political boundaries. Any locality that “opens” is a breeding ground from which it will spread.
