Superficial analysis of #incel movement that fails to acknowledge the complexities faced by sexually unsuccessful men, huge majority of whom are not misogynists let alone killers. Men who hurt, can hurt us. Labelling them as losers adds to that >http://news.sky.com/story/misogynist-sect-may-have-inspired-toronto-suspect-11346902 …
Usually in fairly unhealthy ways as well which very well may help lead to violent behavior. I'm willing to accept incel groups aren't about self pity and passing blame but I've not seen otherwise as of yet

It's too complex to tweet about. I did a pretty immersive piece on MGTOWs some time ago, with very good access. You'd need to do same on Incels to get a handle, not do a lazy, web trawl, which seems to be the modern wayhttps://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/meet-the-men-giving-up-on-women-zqmmthbvjrr …

These communities usually v hostile to journos, with good reason: most writers go to table with agenda that means they don't get access. I might get round to doing a piece that has more balance/intelligence

That's fair considering media tends to cast most men's group in a negative light. As a 21 year old man I agree with most of your article. I remember the sexual assault seminar at my college in which we were all told consensual drunk sex is rape by a man which really terrified me.

Lots of young men feel that way. Confusion reigns. anyway, thanks for the exchange. You've got me thinking I need to look into this more closely

I appreciate your article as well. I think while the idea of MTGOW is fine a lot of the rhetoric used in many of the groups that claim to be a voice for them is harmful to its own followers. It's v. easy to blame others for all your problems, it's become a wide spread trend

Until someone writes "society for cutting up women" or gets
#killallwomen of the ground, mgtow has a long way to go to catch up with the misandry of feminism -
I think that's a bit of a stretch. The most radical section of mgtow and feminism seem to line up pretty well, remember lesbian separatism was and is a thing. The effect is certainly not the same but how the other gender is framed and the basis for that framing (power) is similar

I think my MGTOW article from 2015 is still the benchmark (in terms of access to this highly secretive world at any rate)https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/meet-the-men-giving-up-on-women-zqmmthbvjrr …

If you haven't already I highly recommend listening Warren Farrel's 'The Myth of Male Power.' It's a great book about changing how we think about power, why society has evolved how it has in regards to relationships, and calling out some of the more nonsensical parts of feminism
