Despite the equipment shortage, the doctors and nurses on the front lines are truly brave and the salt of the earth. They knowingly put themselves at risk to help others 6/6

Quick update—Asked my friend what we can do to help her and the other doctors/nurses. Her response: 1) Stop hoarding masks, gloves and other medical supplies 2) Stay home to flatten the curve 3) Wash your hands 4) Send food. They love food that isn’t from the hospital cafeteria

We have held off doing deliveries to ERs without coordinating with folks on site (sometimes there are specific rules about what can come in) We’re trying v hard not to have unexpected pizza be a potential vector

But are talking to some folks about potential ideas. If you’re in or connected to folks in an ER who want lunch and think we can get it to y’all safely - we’d love to chat

One of our volunteer's has helped send pizzas (in a personal capacity) to ERs in DC and Silver Spring's We haven't done anything officially and are still feeling out what that would look like When it comes to elections - we sends pizzas all over the USA

Interesting. Would depend on whether hospital protocols even allow deliveries.

That's been our worry - our volunteer knows folks at these locations so can coordinate appropriately As much as we'd like to throw pizza at the problem (and we just love throwing pizzas at problems) - it doesn't seem wise to do so without having an open communication channel
