      The line to check in right now is 5 people deep, about a 5 minute wait. This is the longest line we have had all day. It really bums me out when I look at my timeline and see what is happening elsewhere in the country. It shouldn’t be that way and it does not have to be that way.

      Keeping an eye on wait times during the lunch rush. Right now: - 10 min to front of line - 5 min to register and get ballot - 2 min wait for electronic machine - 8 min voting (varies by voter) So, about 25 minutes on average for the whole process I’d say.

      I’m revising my estimate: I think about 60% of voters at my polling place are registering and then voting. Same day registration is huge.

      Obviously they’re not all first-time registrants, but many are, and for all of them same-day registration is facilitating a lot of student voting.

      The line has gotten really long. Almost 100 people. But the mood is really positive. No one is leaving. Remember these are mostly students who just got done with a full day of class. Some of them are going to their work study jobs after this.
