I've been a fan of yours and following your career for a long time. You're written so many wonderful pieces and have been an advocate for diverse voices in journalism. I would never associate bitter with you.

Hi! I don’t know you but this is amazing - and not easy to do. It’s hard being the POC calling out these issues and I hope white colleagues will be better allies. In the meantime - props to you

Thank you!

You’re one of the best, and our industry is better for your specific coverage and perspective. It’s not “bitter” to demand equity and representetion of our corps, leaders, and specifically newsrooms. It’s courage. Thanks for all you do, Piya.

Thank you B! The work continues. So grateful for my Salon fam

Thank you for speaking out. Countless times I've pitched articles involving POC only to be ignored, dismissed or told 'they're not well-known enough.' Recent example: Kumail Nanjiani (!!). Okay, so even if you think they're not well-known, isn't it our job to educate and inform??
-
I’m so sorry you’re hitting those walls. Truly believe change is happening, but meanwhile, here to support you in any way. And I can’t wait to read your
@kumailn interview when they finally realize he’s a good one to know.
