    We were also discussing the gap btw training & doing... People often feel they need more training but what they actually need is to DO. For some things, the learning is in actual practice. There's no way around it. And folks can use the need to KNOW more as an excuse not to do

    As of 2008, only Florida tried youth as adults at a higher rate than Oregon. As of 2012, Black teens were 26 times more likely to be charged as adults than white teens — but make up less than 2% of Oregon’s youth. It’s time for youth sentencing reform.

    On Mother’s Day, many of our amazing grantees partnered with for its campaign. Nearly 70% of incarcerated women are mothers. Cash bail is dividing families.

    If we pull in $40k more in contributions today, we will have raised $1,000,000 to free black mamas from cages, provide supportive services, run a fellowship program for those mamas, and organize campaigns that will end money bail and pretrial detention.
